Midgett Realty had our annual photo contest and the results were amazing! A big shout out to all of our friends who participated in showing their love for Hatteras Island!
On a Tuesday in March a small collection of individuals came from near and far and gathered at the southern foot of the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge. Among this group were lawmakers, activists and the Queen herself. March 8th, 2016 was the official groundbreaking ceremony to replace the decades-old bridge.

I have some exciting news to share! I don't know if you follow us on Facebook (and if not, you should, because up until October 30, 2013 you can win a FREE vacation), but last week we threw out this poll to vote the Outer Banks as 10Best.com's "Best Place to Watch a Sunset". Guess what.
A HUGE thank you to the Cape Hatteras Secondary School for hosting us at their Career Fair. The event was put together so nicely, and it was great to meet and be able to talk with the students about thir future! We want to thank the people who worked hard to put this event together for both the employers and students.
We are getting very excited about the Outer Banks Wedding Association Wedding Expo next weekend, January 19-20! We look forward to meeting all the brides and grooms and most importantly, we look forward to helping you create that fairy tale wedding you are planning for. Don’t forget to go by the Outer Banks Wedding Welcome Center on Friday, January 18, and pick up your Wedding Expo program booklet, as well as your copy of the newly revealed 2013 Outer Banks Bride magazine!

UPDATE 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012
Beginning Friday, November 2 at 6:00 a.m. all reentry restrictions for Hatteras Island will be lifted and ferry service will be available for everyone, including visitors. The only access to Hatteras Island is by ferry until further notice. The only priority given for emergency ferry service is for essential commodities and materials, as determined by Dare County Emergency Management and the Ferry Division.
If you are here, on Hatteras Island, please be aware that if you plan on using the Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry you could encounter delays, load weight restrictions and possible suspensions due to extreme shoaling of the Hatteras Inlet channel.
