Fun Hatteras Activities

Frisco is a largely residential village, blossoming with nature and wildlife, and lined with miles of open beaches. With plenty to do, Frisco keeps people returning to Hatteras Island year after year!

9:00am: Start your morning with a delicious breakfast at The Gingerbread House and get some sustenance for another day of fun on Hatteras Island.

10:00am: Pop next door to Burrus Flying Service for one of the three available Outer Banks Air Tours (reservations are likely needed so line this up in advance). Get a bird’s eye view of Hatteras Island and admire paradise from the sky!

11:30am: Head two more doors down to the Frisco Native American Museum.  Explore the artifacts of various Native American tribes as well items from the original inhabitants of Hatteras Island. Don’t forget to take a stroll through their scenic nature trail!

12:30pm: Feed those hungry tummies with a bite from Frisco Sandwich Company. Enjoy the weather and dine at one of their convenient outdoor picnic tables.

1:30pm: Step next door Frisco Rod & Gun for a shopping experience unique to Hatteras Island. With a large appeal to the fellas with various outdoor toys, the ladies have not been left out! Rods and guns also come in pink, and there is also a great selection of apparel for men, women and kids alike!

2:00pm: Frisco has a variety of public beach access points, so take advantage with an afternoon of fun in the sun! Pay homage to the late Frisco Pier, choose convenience at the Frisco Bathhouses or take the 4-wheel drive out behind Billy Mitchell Airstrip at Ramp 49.

4:00pm: Take the scenic Highway 12 to Red Drum Pottery and complete your day in Frisco with an illustrious gallery tour. On the tour? Browning Studios, Empty Nest Studio & Gallery, Indian Town Gallery and MORE! Wrap up your day with a stop at the north end of Frisco at Coastal Cottage Outfitters and load up with some locally curated and wonderfully tasteful island gems.

6:00pm: Head back to your Hatteras Island sandcastle and tidy up for a scrumptious dinner in the village of Frisco. For a good local sit-down dinner try Capt’n Rolo’s Raw Bar & Grill. Friday nights are music night at Rolo’s, so if you happen to be up for a night out on the town, park at this local watering hole for an evening of fun and entertainment.  Feeling more in the mood for a night in? Grab a mouth-watering pizza at local favorite, Gingerbread House. Also a good breakfast stop, this cute little hot spot that literally resembles a gingerbread house can make one good pizza pie so don’t hesitate to give it a try!
