Happy Memorial Day! The 1st Annual Shore Break 5K and the Tide Pool Fun Run were held on Monday, May 28, 2012. Midgett Realty was a proud sponsor of the 1st Annual 5K that took the runners on a secenic run through Kinnakeet Shores in Avon. From paved roads through the beautiful winding streets of Kinnakeet Shores, to wooden bridges, boardwalks, and beach walkways, this was an event with a beautiful view every step you make! At last, a few steps up and over the dunes and finally finishing with an unbelievable view of the Atlantic Ocean as the final stretch took you along the shores of Hatteras Island to the finish line.
The morning was absolutely gorgeous for the run. There is nothing like getting your day started on the right foot, with a little exercise for a great cause! All proceeds from this event went toward the Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund and the OBX GO FAR (Go Out For A Run) Children’s Health and Nutrition Program.
