Description: Sitting near the corner of an oceanfront cul-de-sac, this lovely oceanside cottage is just steps from the path over the ocean dunes. Built in 2004 and well positioned, relaxing sea views greet the eye from broad and well furnished decks at the great-room level and bedroom level beneath. The two-level decking wraps the house on three sides and is accessed from bedrooms through glass sliders in each of the two master bedrooms facing the ocean. These bedrooms have private full baths, one with shower, and the other with shower/tub combo. A third master bedroom has twin beds and a full bath with shower. Ceiling fans circulate air in all three master bedrooms. The bunkroom accommodates four sleepers having easy access to the hall tub/shower bath. All four bedrooms provide flat-screen TV and DVD players. Conveniently near the bedrooms are washer, dryer, iron and shelves for supplies.

The great room sports a breakfast bar dividing dining and living areas from the kitchen. Light and airy, with vaulted ceiling, ceiling fans, numerous windows and three glass sliders, this room is the focal point of Summer Palace. Ample counter space surrounds the chef, who easily surveys the dining, video, games and any other activities enjoyed inside or outside on the deck. Modern appliances including flat cook top electric stove, microwave and dishwasher make life easy for the chef. Powder room is just around the corner.

The dining area has seating for 10, not counting breakfast-bar stools. Additional chairs are easily borrowed from the game and hobby recess in the Northern corner. This recess is stocked with board games, cards, and books for all ages.

The entertainment corner of the great room embraces a 32-inch flat-screen TV with a DVD player. Relax and enjoy from sofa, love seat, or chairs pulled along side. An Onkyo stereo quietly fills the room with sweet sound from FM or CD.

Too much going on in the great room? Get away two flights up into Summer Palace's spacious loft. One of the highest vantage points in Hatteras and amply windowed on all sides, it offers spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of sound, island, and ocean. Surf sounds and ocean breezes pamper sleepers enjoying the loft's double-size futon. On still nights, A/C or ceiling fan can be set in motion. When the sun rises, step out the loft door for a balcony stroll on all sides. Don't forget your binoculars!

For the fishermen and women in the family, marina launch ramps and charters are within walking distance; the surf is just steps away. The fish-cleaning bench is conveniently located around the back at ground level. Your catch is easily frozen in the chest freezer. Beachgoers return to a warm-water outside enclosed shower.

Sea View Drive is fully paved, as is the especially wide concrete drive and under-house parking. Plenty of room for a boat and trailer.
