In addition to linens, some other items you should bring to Hatteras vacation rentals are:

• Cleaning supplies (laundry/dishwasher detergent)
• Food items (especially favorite condiments)
• Beach towels and toys
• DVDs and games
• Flashlight
• Charcoal & lighter fluid for grills
• Cash & traveler's checks (personal checks are rarely accepted on the island, although there are a few ATMs to choose from)
• Calling card
• Toiletries, medicines, sunscreen
