4th of July holds a significant meaning for all of us, and Hatteras Island loves to celebrate accordingly! For those of you who will be joining us for the first time over the holiday, we wanted to share some safety reminders as well as some island tips and tricks!

Island hopping over to the nearby Ocracoke Island just got a lot easier thanks to the newly added passenger ferry, better known as the “Ocracoke Express”. This new transportation option shuttles guests from the Hatteras Ferry Terminal to Silver Lake on Ocracoke Island in a matter of 70 minutes.
This morning, a News Release, courtesy of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and National Park Service, provided trip planning tips that emphasize on beach safety and rip current awareness, along with updates on lifeguarded beach locations. It is absolutely imperative to go over these things with every member in your party before vacationing at the beach, whether they be children or adults.
