With Hurricane Florence expected to slow down as it makes landfall in southeast North Carolina tonight through early Friday morning, Dare County will continue to feel effects from the storm into Saturday morning, after the storm moves away.

A Hurricane Warning, Storm Surge Warning, High Surf Advisory, Flash Flood Watch, Beach Hazards Advisory and a Tornado Watch is in effect for Dare County. As of 8:30 a.m. this morning access to Dare County is restricted to only those with a Priority One Critical Personnel Pass issued by Dare County Emergency Management or a Critical Needs Pass issued by Currituck County Emergency Management.
With the most recent update from the National Hurricane Center, a Hurricane Warning and Storm Surge Warning remain in effect for Dare County. While the track has shifted to the south and west overnight, do not let your guard down.
