The 19th annual island-wide food drive to stock the shelves of the Hatteras Island Food Pantry began on Monday, October 1, 2012 and will continue through December 31, 2012. The Hatteras Island Food Pantry is located at the United Methodist Church in Buxton. All donations, whether they be food or monetay donations, help Hatteras Island residents in need. There is at least one drop off location per village, and Midgett Realty is proud to host drop-off locations at each of our office!
You may bring your donations to any of our office locations; Hatteras, Avon or Rodanthe. When thinking about what to donate, here is a list of items that usually are in highest demand: spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, grated cheese, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, non-fat dry milk, sugar, cooking oil, pancake mix, pancake syrup, flour, biscuit mix, shortening, salt and pepper, canned meats, canned tuna, shampoo, shaving cream, bath soap, deodorant, toothpaste, dish detergent hand soap, laundry supplies, dog food, cat food, kitty litter.
