Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Frisco Native American Museum with an exciting afternoon of live demonstrations featuring Shane Rader of the Houma Nation, Jack McClung of the Potomac Tribe, and returning presenters Bryce Park and Francesca Land.
Go beyond the history books as these talented demonstrators showcase how the Eastern Woodland peoples crafted the tools, weapons, and everyday items essential to their way of life. Learn how bows, arrows, atlatls, spears, and knives were made, how they were used in hunting, and the remarkable skill required to master them. Discover whether shields were used, explore the tools created for crafting jewelry, and gain a deeper understanding of the ingenuity behind Indigenous technology.
You’ll also witness the fascinating process of transforming natural materials into valuable trade goods. From turning shells into intricate beads to creating pottery and stone tools, you’ll see firsthand how these items played a vital role in daily life, commerce, and survival.
Back by popular demand for a second year, this engaging program offers a unique opportunity to experience living history through hands-on demonstrations and expert storytelling.
The event is free with museum admission, and guests are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
