The Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station is a partially restored life-saving station, museum, and historic Hatteras site. At the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station you will be able to see how the life-saving stations operated in the late 19th century to attend shipwrecks and to rescue stranded sailors and crew members.  The buildings include the 1874 Station and the 1911 Station, 2 cookhouses, water tanks, a stable, a tractor shed, a small boathouse, and a village home. Learn about the lives of the service men who performed many rescues during this time, and browse the gift shop for great gifts!
