Day at the Docks 2026

Day at the Docks began as a celebration of the “Spirit of Hatteras,” honoring the strength and resilience of the village following its recovery from Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Held each September, this beloved event celebrates the close-knit community, rich heritage, and enduring traditions of Hatteras Island’s watermen. Festivities include competitions, demonstrations, live entertainment, fresh seafood, children’s activities, and educational exhibits. The event concludes with the moving Blessing of the Fleet, when communities from across the island gather at the harbor in solemn prayer for the safety of the watermen at sea and for a successful season ahead.
