The Tri Villages Market returns on Wednesday, June 11 to kick off the summer season!

More than 40 local businesses invite you to shop every Wednesday through September 24. You’ll find unique offerings from artists, crafters, and entrepreneurs set up on porches, under tents on the lawn, and inside the cozy conference center—making it a true Hatteras Island experience not to be missed.

Conveniently located along the multi-use path on the soundside of Camp Hatteras Campground, the market offers plenty of parking for cars, bikes, and golf carts. Best of all? It’s a rain-or-shine event. In the case of inclement weather, vendors will shift indoors to the conference center, where even more businesses than usual will be ready to welcome you.

Come support local and enjoy one of the island’s favorite weekly traditions!

The Old Trent Market is back for the 2025 season, kicking off on May 15 at Frisco Woods Campground. Held every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through October 30, this beloved weekly event continues to grow in both size and popularity.

Now in its fourth year, the market promises an even more vibrant experience, featuring a wide array of handmade crafts, local artwork, fresh produce, and unique treasures from talented local artisans and vendors.

Admission is free and all are welcome to explore the market at 53124 N.C. Highway 12 in Frisco. Market organizers also note that participating artisans will be on-site for select summer and fall events hosted at Frisco Woods Campground.

Day at the Docks began as a tribute to the “Spirit of Hatteras,” honoring the village’s resilience following Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Held each September, this event showcases the strength of community, the legacy of the island’s watermen, and the enduring maritime traditions that define Hatteras Island. Attendees can enjoy lively competitions, hands-on demonstrations, local seafood, children’s activities, entertainment, and educational exhibits. The day concludes with the heartfelt Blessing of the Fleet—a cherished tradition where island communities gather at the harbor to offer prayers for the safety and success of those who make their living on the sea.

Celebrate Independence Day with an unforgettable evening at Avon Pier and the Avon Beach Klub on Hatteras Island. This cherished Fourth of July tradition features festive entertainment broadcast on local Radio Hatteras stations FM 101.5 and 99.9, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean that can be enjoyed from the beaches of Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Avon’s wide, spacious shoreline offers plenty of room to relax and take in the show, with excellent views available from nearly anywhere along the beach. Visitors will also enjoy convenient parking throughout town and easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, and refreshments around the pier area.

Sponsored by the Avon Property Owners Association and supported by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, this annual celebration is made possible through the partnership of local businesses and community organizations. A favorite summer event on Hatteras Island, the evening brings together patriotic spirit, coastal fun, and a strong sense of community. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m. and last approximately 20 minutes.
