Great location, if you dig around for kitchen utensils you might find most of what you want. Try the first turnout just north of town - great beach.

This home is a great value for people that want to do watersports on the pamlico sound. My friends and I have stayed in this same house to do paddle boarding and windsurfing for 6 years now and the house provides everything you need for a great week at a cost that makes it very accessible. The beach is never far away when your in the OBX, we either walk 5 minutes to get to Avon beach or load up the truck and drive out on the cape, so having the private sound side access is definitely the way to go in my opinion. You've got a private dock, board storage, an outdoor shower, and extremely easy access to the open sound that makes it a breeze to go out on any kind of board at a moments notice.

Good central location on the island; great house for 1 family; drive up, unload your stuff, drop your paddle board or kayak or fishing line in the water and you're set!

Windsurfing access was pretty good.<BR>Loved the grassy yard and trees that provided shade. Many houses do not have that.

My family loved this property. This was the first time we have rented a home on the sound side and were not disappointed. Outside: Either bring or rent kayaks or paddle boards, it is worth it! The water right off the dock is about 2ish feet and goes up to waist height the further out you walk. We threw out crab traps and caught a lot of crabs, but none that were to measurement, so we couldn't keep them. Under the home does flood a little when it rains, so make sure your things are picked up. There is a room under the house next to the shower that you can put your things in as well. The hot tub was lovely and is inside the enclosed porch. There were a ton of bubbles when the jets are on, so be prepared! Downside is the roof does leak pretty good over the hot tub when it rains and the light does not work over the hot tub due to it being full of water. There is a clothes line, so make sure to bring clothes pins.<BR>Inside: The kitchen is definitely fully equipped and we didn't need anything extra. The master bedroom does have a very firm bed, so come prepared with a soft topper. All the other beds I am told were very comfortable. There is ample storage space! In order to get to the game room, you have to walk through the queen bedroom. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms, which was lovely! Pack light! There is access to the washer and dryer. We did a load almost daily.<BR>Downside: Owners were staying in both properties next to us. The one side was fine, she was very friendly and allowed us to use her dock to fish off of. The other side was not the best experience. They allowed their child (about 8) to come on our dock (and pulled our crab traps out). They did not have a dock like ours. We did not feel like we could say anything to them because we were just renters and they are property owners.<BR>Overall, our experience here was really great. We would definitely rent this home again! It is the perfect size for two families to share and be comfortable. It is within walking distance to DQ, which was nice to do with the kids.

The view of the sound is fantastic and it's very close to the grocery and restaurants. The game room was very nice for guitar playing and working jigsaw puzzles.
