    These homes will gladly accept up to 2 domestic, housebroken pets (dogs or cats only) unless otherwise noted. Pets are not permitted on the grounds of any home not designated pet friendly. Any additional restrictions (for example, some property owners only permit dogs) will be noted in the property details. An additional pet fee could be incurred.   • Hot Tub

    These homes feature private (or, in the case of Atlantic View Estates properties, community) hot tubs. Tubs are cleaned and sanitized before each rental. A great way to take the "off season" chill away. As used on our web site, Hot Tub does not mean the traditional wooden tubs found in many mountain ski resorts; in other areas, our Hot Tubs might be called Spas. Most of them are located outside on a deck or poolside; a select few are inside the home and/or adjacent or even built in to the pool. A Jacuzzi is not a Hot Tub; it is a trademark bathtub, in many shapes and sizes, typically found in the bathroom (although a select few homes in our program may have the Jacuzzi inside the master bedroom).
  • Accessibility Features

    Some of our Hatteras Island properties include elevators, ramps, grab bars, and wide doorways to facilitate accessibility. Features vary, please contact our office to discuss your needs. Homes are not ADA compliant.
  • Gold - All Seasons

    Sheets and towels are provided for all full and partial week stays. Beds will be made on check-in day with the exception of top bunks, sofa beds, trundles, and futons (these sheets will be left in the cottage for you). Towel sets include 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth and will be provided for the maximum occupancy of the cottage.

Spend your vacation feeling right at home in this comfortable 4-bedroom oceanside cottage. Situated on a large corner lot in Salvo’s Hatteras Colony neighborhood, Blue Heron has everything you need for an island getaway. With a ramp from the covered parking area to the main entry and an easy single-level floor plan, this home is just right for those with limited mobility.

The open living area and eat-in kitchen has plenty of room for the whole family. Step out onto the wide sundeck or relax on the screened porch off the kitchen. Enjoy horizon ocean views and stargazing from the rooftop sundeck.

Down the hall are four bedrooms. Two queen bedrooms and a bunk bedroom share a full bathroom off the hall. The king en suite with TV and laundry area is at the end of the hallway.

Outside, you can shoot some hoops at the basketball goal or throw a few burgers on the grill. The kids will love the large yard, and the whole family will love the beach. The quiet residential neighborhood is perfect for family bike rides or walking the dogs.

The locally owned ice cream shop is within walking distance, as well as equipment rentals. From Blue Heron, you are just a short drive away from any Hatteras Island adventure you crave.
