Catch up on some R & R at this comfortable oceanfront home in Buxton. With playful decor and plenty of upgrades throughout, Mermaid’s Rest offers easy beach access and unsurpassed views of the ocean from all levels.

All three tastefully decorated bedrooms, each with a TV, are on the first level. The king master bedroom has access to the oceanfront deck with a swing to relax in while you take it all in.  Easy beach access so you can take a swim within moments of waking. A queen bedroom and a bedroom with two single beds are also on this level and share a full bathroom.

Upstairs is the open living, dining, and kitchen area with windows all around so you never lose sight of the sea.  Step onto the sundeck, not only to enjoy views of the ocean but, to look on to your loved ones sharing good times.  A half bathroom is also on this level.

A few more steps up to the loft will provide some space of your own with a TV, queen sleep sofa and ocean views.

Enjoy truly fresh, local seafood at various nearby restaurants and pick out the perfect souvenir at any of the shops in the area. 

For larger gatherings and those who wish to share the vacation experience more closely, contact a Midgett Realty reservation agent to inquire about the sister cottages to Mermaid’s Rest -- Surfer Girl and Penny Lane.  The combined total accommodations for these three cottages are 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 lofts with sleeping quarters and 3 sleeper sofas.

Note: In the summer of 2022 the Avon and Buxton oceanfront will receive much needed beach nourishment. The Avon project begins 3,000 feet north of the Avon Pier at Due East Road to the southern boundary of Avon at the National Park Service line—approximately 2.5 miles of oceanfront.  The maintenance renourishment for Buxton includes 2.9 miles of shoreline from the Haulover Day Use Area north of Buxton to the oceanfront groin at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. You may experience some temporary construction noise, night illumination, and beach access diversions in the immediate vicinity of this rental for a short duration dependent upon changing project conditions. Mermaid's Rest has a concrete parking pad beside the house as the main parking area. This also goes under the house and could potentially accommodate one small vehicle. The entrance is from under the house.
