  • Hot Tub

    These homes feature private (or, in the case of Atlantic View Estates properties, community) hot tubs. Tubs are cleaned and sanitized before each rental. A great way to take the "off season" chill away. As used on our web site, Hot Tub does not mean the traditional wooden tubs found in many mountain ski resorts; in other areas, our Hot Tubs might be called Spas. Most of them are located outside on a deck or poolside; a select few are inside the home and/or adjacent or even built in to the pool. A Jacuzzi is not a Hot Tub; it is a trademark bathtub, in many shapes and sizes, typically found in the bathroom (although a select few homes in our program may have the Jacuzzi inside the master bedroom).

Towel sets include 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth and will be provided for the maximum occupancy of the cottage.

Escape to this beautiful 6-bedroom soundfront home for your next Hatteras Island vacation! Southern Retreat’s attractive décor and plentiful amenities are welcoming, and the sound views from every level are breathtaking. Since each of the spacious bedrooms has its own TV, everyone can have their own space. An elevator stops on all of the bedroom and common area floors, with only the loft and pool deck not wheelchair friendly. A ramp goes to the first level.

The first floor is fun central, with a large game room with pool table, foosball, smart TV, and wet bar complete with a full-size refrigerator. The slider opens onto a set of stairs that goes to the walkway to the pool area, where you can have some fun in the sun or soak your cares away in the bubbly hot tub. A full bathroom in the hall serves the game room and a bedroom with 1 single and 1 queen bed. A bedroom with a bunk bed set and a pyramid bunk has its own private bathroom with shower only.

On the tastefully decorated middle floor, the large living room with space for all to gather, with a smart TV and side tables for a game of checkers, chess or puzzling. The kitchen boasts 2 wall ovens and 2 dishwashers, as well as everything you need to put together a feast. Views out over the sound from this level are amazing! Step out onto the wide decks and enjoy the summer breeze. Also on this level is a queen en suite bedroom with a tiled shower and door out onto the deck. A half bathroom completes the floor.

The top floor has 3 more bedrooms and the laundry area. A king en suite bedroom has a tiled shower. 2 king en suite bedrooms each open onto another fantastic soundfront deck, the perfect place to enjoy some quiet time while taking in one of Hatteras Island’s famous sunsets. Each of these bedrooms also features a Jacuzzi tub and 2-head shower in their bathrooms. Up a final set of stairs is a loft with panoramic views from ocean to sound.

The private pathway to the sound provides access for windsurfing, kite boarding, kayaking, canoeing, or simply watching the kids splash around. The kids will love to catch and hold the hermit crabs that live there. The ocean access is only a short walk down a private road, approximately 1800 feet. This luxurious home will quickly become your vacation destination of choice!
