Free Heated Pool
Heated private pools and pool heat (if provided) can be available from March 22 to October 28, 2024. Certain private pools offer free heat (Up to $600 value); check cottage description for dates that heat will be available. During times of extremely low temperature or high wind, pools may not heat to what tenant believes to be an acceptable temperature. No refund will be given due to adverse weather conditions. Pool heat requested on check-in day or later will result in an additional convenience fee.

Hot Tub
These homes feature private (or, in the case of Atlantic View Estates properties, community) hot tubs. Tubs are cleaned and sanitized before each rental. A great way to take the "off season" chill away. As used on our web site, Hot Tub does not mean the traditional wooden tubs found in many mountain ski resorts; in other areas, our Hot Tubs might be called Spas. Most of them are located outside on a deck or poolside; a select few are inside the home and/or adjacent or even built in to the pool. A Jacuzzi is not a Hot Tub; it is a trademark bathtub, in many shapes and sizes, typically found in the bathroom (although a select few homes in our program may have the Jacuzzi inside the master bedroom).

Gold - All Seasons
Sheets and towels are provided for all full and partial week stays. Beds will be made on check-in day with the exception of top bunks, sofa beds, trundles, and futons (these sheets will be left in the cottage for you). Towel sets include 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth and will be provided for the maximum occupancy of the cottage.

Find the rest you need and the tranquility you deserve when you frequent Special K’s, an amenity-filled luxury home nestled neatly on the Rodanthe oceanfront. With one pup allowed, your whole family can vacation in style and create memories that will last a lifetime.
From the time you walk through the front door, you’ll find all the comforts and conveniences you could want in a vacation home. With the ground level largely dedicated to the sizable game room with ping pong table, TV, and surrounding sitting area, it’s happily complimented by a full wet bar with plenty of cabinet storage, a full-sized fridge, undercounter wine fridge, and microwave, so snacks and cocktails are never too far from hand. While a half bath services the first-floor foot traffic, the first of six bedrooms, a king en suite, has a private bathroom with a tub/shower combo and double bowl vanity. It also features a private balcony and its own TV for added relaxation. Just across the hall, the first of two laundry rooms completes the level.
Get your steps in or use the elevator that services each floor, and head up to the first living level that houses the remaining five bedrooms, the second laundry room, and a centrally located den with TV. A king en suite and queen en suite both host walk-in showers. The queen en suite also offers entrance to the shaded deck with a dual-level catwalk that overlooks the pool area. An en suite with two twins has a walk-in shower and roll-under vanity, and an en suite with two bunk sets offers a tub/shower combo and entrance to a private sundeck. The final bedroom with two bunk sets is serviced by the full bath next door that is shared with the floor.
The second living level is a cozy space for all to gather with high vaulted ceilings, natural cedarwood walls, and plenty of light from large windows and sliders that provide entrance to decks flanking two sides of the home. A sizable kitchen features oak craftsman-style cabinetry with granite tops and a tile backsplash. The breakfast bar is a welcome perch for kitchen helpers and offers plenty of workspace for delicious home-cooked meals. Seating arrangements are never a challenge with the large dining table and two breakfast tables that provide a variety of options for kids, teens, and adults alike. Alfresco dining is also available on the spacious shaded deck with a large table and bench seating, as well as on the opposing sundeck that faces the ocean. The living room offers plush wraparound seating so everyone can kick their feet up after heavy meals and a long day of island shenanigans.
A third level loft has views as far as the eye can see. A sleep sofa offers flexibility in sleeping arrangements with plenty of privacy and its own TV. A secluded sundeck overlooks both the pool and the Rodanthe oceanfront, an ideal spot for sunning with your favorite beach read in hand.
Outside, the property is as lush with amenities as the inside. The ground level shaded deck boasts the bubbly hot tub, outdoor shower, and the lower-level catwalk that delivers you into the pool area or sand volleyball court.
