March on Hatteras Island was welcomed by locals with open arms as it brought the first of Spring to an already mild–albeit oddly snowy at times–winter. Spring is generally more consistent with it’s warmer days and sunny skies, but it also represents the blooming of yet another season on Hatteras Island. Homeowners are out working in their yards and businesses are opening their doors once more to the smiling faces of visitors from around the globe. Wetsuits begin to lose appendages, layers become lighter and Highway 12 is once again graced with travellers of all kinds.
