Hatteras Island is a vacation destination with something for everyone to enjoy. No matter the season, you’ll find opportunities to embrace your interests of all kinds. When you’re an avid angler heading this way, time at the Rodanthe Fishing Pier might just end up being the highlight of your adventure!

Cast a Line in Outer Banks Style

The Rodanthe Fishing Pier is located at 24251 Atlantic Drive and is a place where visitors are invited to sit back, relax, and wait for a bite while surrounded by spectacular views. You won’t need a fishing license if you’re fishing directly from the pier meaning you can focus less on logistics and more on the fun ahead. Pier hours between April and May 7 are 7:00 am until dark while anglers can enjoy their time reeling in prize catches from June through mid-September on the pier from 6:00 am until midnight. At all other times of the year, fishing from the Rodanthe Pier is available to visitors between 7:00 am and Midnight. The Rodanthe Fishing Pier is typically open the weekend right before Easter and closes the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Fees to Spend the Day Fishing at the Pier

If you arrive at this North Carolina fishing pier by vehicle, there’s convenient beach access parking available for just $15 a day. If you’ve already purchased your fishing pass, you can enjoy parking here at no additional cost! Pier fishing day passes for those 10 and under are $10 a day while passes for the day for those 11 and up are $15 a day. Anglers can enjoy pole rentals on-site for just $12 a day while live bait fishing is also priced at $15 per day. If your plans have you in town for the week and you know you want to come back a time or two, weekly passes can be purchased for $75 for fishing or $200 for the week for a family of four. While many visitors come to enjoy fishing directly from the pier, this destination is just as enjoyable when you’re on-site to soak up the sights exclusively. If you’re just dropping by for sightseeing, passes are just $2 per day or weekly passes can be purchased for $10.

Explore the Pier House

Whether you need to stock up on essentials or you’re in the mood for a snack and souvenirs, be sure to drop by the Pier House when you explore the Rodanthe Fishing Pier. This destination is well-stocked with saltwater bait and tackle and is also a great place to pick up merchandise like customized t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more. If you have a sweet tooth to satisfy, the Pier House is where you’ll want to be for ice cream and candy bars.
