As a locally owned and operated company, both the Midgett Family and the Midgett Realty Team are proud to be a part of our school’s current and continuing education. Through a variety of volunteer roles, and at times through financial funding, we pride ourselves in being active in the lives of our students so that they can succeed at the highest levels.
On Tuesday night, Midgett Realty joined several other community members and organizations at the Cape Hatteras Secondary School Scholarship Banquet, where collectively, our students were awarded a grand total of $602,900.00! Making that even more incredible is that the graduating Class of 2023 consists of only 49 shining individuals.
Representing Midgett Realty at this year’s annual banquet was Cassie Gray, a member of our Marketing Team and of Cape Hatteras School’s graduating class of 2001. She noted “One of my favorite things about working with Midgett Realty is their unwavering support of our students. They have never denied me the opportunity to be hands-on in our schools through countless volunteer hours and/or committee and board roles. Everyone from our General Manager and CEO to our team that changes the air filters has volunteered their time at the school and I feel really fortunate to be a part of that. And I can say with absolute certainty that the community scholarships I received as a graduating senior had a significant impact on my education, so handing another student an opportunity to achieve their dreams 20/+ years later definitely tugs on my heart strings a little.”
While these 49 students will be going on to become everything from a professional surf instructor to a United States Marine to a veterinarian to a kinesthesiologist, we were very excited to present Alexis Zavala, an aspiring accountant, with this year’s Midgett Realty Scholarship. Alexis plans to attend Queens University in Charlotte, NC in the fall, and we are very excited to be a part of the mark he is going to make on the world!
We extend our sincerest congratulations to Alexis and his classmates in Cape Hatteras Secondary School’s graduating Class of 2023, as well as a heartfelt thank you to the teachers and staff members that helped make the banquet such an incredible success for our students and community.
