The 4th Annual Bike the Light was held on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Beginning at the Cape Hatteras Secondary School, participants biked all the way to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and back – a solid 5 miles! This funky annual fundraising event brought together over 60 riders this year all dressed in humorous and wacky costumes. Bike the Light is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head, and proceeds go to various children’s programs and charities on Hatteras.

Midgett Realty supplied the bags that were given out to each participant, which were stuffed with goodies from local businesses around the community; no one left empty handed! Once riders returned from their zaney bike ride, pizza and sandwiches were served while the judges decided on winners. The different categories for best costume were a kid’s category with 4 winners, a group prize, two adult prizes, and a special award for one of the riders.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the  was another great Bike the Light on Hatteras Island!
